Emily Lake, PhD

Founder and Executive Director

Emily leads the CLM Society day to day and directs the Parent Connections peer support program. She founded the organization in late 2025 (previously as CPAM Parents) after her son was diagnosed prenatally with a high-risk bronchopulmonary sequestration (BPS) and became seriously ill at birth.

Emily has a BA and an MA, both from the University of London., and holds a PhD from Stanford University. She also has an extensive background in running and facilitating peer support groups for a grief and bereavement organization, experience that directly shapes how she thinks about community, connection, and what families in crisis really need. Originally from the UK, she lives in California with her husband, their two boys, and two cats.
